Uname command used to find the basic information about that information about which Operating system has been used. What is the kernel version? When it is released

-a Print the basic of the all information
rpmsupport-4 ~/Desktop $ uname -a

-s which Operating system has been used
rpmsupport-4 ~/Desktop $ uname -s

-o related to OS
rpmsupport-4 ~/Desktop $ uname -o

rpmsupport-4 ~/Desktop $ uname

-n refer to the Hostname or local host
rpmsupport-4 ~/Desktop $ uname -n
jkumarRed hat rhel5 uname command version OS kernel hostname -v Operation System version

-r OS release level
